Percy Cochran Jr., 84, of Marshall, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, in Donna, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with military rites will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born September 18, 1926, in Lincoln, Ill., he was the son of the late Percy D. Cochran and Mary Woodsmall Cochran. He lived in Saline County from early childhood and was a 1944 graduate of Marshall High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II. On September 24, 1949, he married Fern Scott who survives of the home. He retired from International Shoe Company in 1988. He was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church and Malta Bend American Legion Post 558.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Terri Tupman and her husband, Dave, of Anna, Texas, and Steve Cochran and his wife, Timberley, of rural Marshall; two grandchildren, Madison and Mackensie Cochran; and two nieces, Denise Henry and her husband, Jim, of Hobe Sound, Fla., and Claire Fishkelta and her husband, Richard, of River Vale, N.J.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita Marie Gemon.
