Warren F. Ash, 94, of Marshall, died Sunday, Feb. 6, 2011, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at First Christian Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born Jan. 13, 1917, in Shackelford, he was the son of the late George Buckner Ash and Leona Maupin Ash. On Aug. 15, 1941, he married Anna Gertrude Hammer who preceded him in death on May 7, 2005. He was a farmer and had lived in Saline County his entire life. He was a member of First Christian Church, its New Century Sunday school class and served as a deacon. He was a 50-year member combined of the Masonic Lodge in Blackburn and Sedalia. He was a member for several years of the Shackelford School Board where he had served as president and was a board member of Saline County Water District #1. He was also a member of Missouri State Trap Shooters Association holding the record for champion state trap shooter in 1982 which was held for many years. He was an avid bird hunter.
Survivors include four children, Janice Jones and her husband David, and William (Butch) Ash and his wife, Doris, of Marshall, Debbie Squires and her husband, Jan, of Charlottesville, Va. and David Ash and his wife, Gloria, of Raytown; 10 grandchildren, David, Rick, Ben, Amy and Alyson Jones, Kevin and Julie Ash, Jennifer and Lauren Squires and Aubrey Ash; eight great-grandchildren, Gage and Keely Nitzschke, Sofia, Erlan and Anastasia Jones, Brecken Jones and Colton and Ainsley Ash; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, C.B. Ash.
