Dale LaRue, 55, of Slater, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2011, at his home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Slater United Methodist Church with Rev. Jess Spurgin officiating. Bethany Weiker, pianist, will play "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Just a Closer Walk With Thee." Burial will be in Sunset Garden Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Vogl, John Kehr, Doug Coleman, Randy Horman, Mike Otto and Hank Thomas. Honorary Pallbearers will be William Horgan, Bill Lewellen, Albert Wright, Jr. and the employees of the Central Missouri Agri-Service Slater location. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of services on Saturday at the church. Memorials are suggested to Slater Christian Church, Fitzgibbon- Mary Montgomery Hospice or the Slater FFA Alumni Scholarship Fund in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Jan. 8, 1956, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Frank Eugene LaRue and Elda Reed LaRue Wiseman, who survives of Slater. On Jan. 10, 1993, in Slater, he married Jane M. Tiemeyer who survives of the home. He was a member and Deacon of Slater Christian Church. He was a 1974 graduate of Slater High School. He worked at Deems Farm Equipment from 1974 until 1978, and Slater Cooperative #1 from 1978 until 1995, when he transferred as Assistant Manager to the MFA Fertilizer plant. He was named manager of the Central Missouri Agri-Service in Slater in 2008. He was also a certified crop advisor.
He is survived by a brother, Rodney LaRue and his wife, Shirley, of Slater; his step-father, Carl Wiseman, of Slater; two nieces; a nephew; and a great nephew.
