End Rows for Jan. 25, 2011
DISASTER APPLICATION DEADLINE
January 31, 2011 is the deadline to apply for payment under the Emergency Assistance for Livestock, Honey bees, and Farm-raised Fish Program (ELAP) and the Livestock Indemnity Program (LIP) for weather-related losses experienced in 2010.
IF producers have already filed a notice of loss, an application for payment must also be filed by January 31.
ELAP provides emergency assistance to eligible producers of livestock, honeybees and farm-raised fish who experienced losses not covered under other disaster assistance programs established by the 2008 Farm Bill.
LIP provides benefits to eligible producers for livestock deaths in excess of normal mortality caused by adverse weather.
