Herbert M. Beerman, 87, of Concordia, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011, at The Lutheran Nursing Home in Concordia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Jan. 24, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia, with Rev. R. Lee Hagan officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Concordia. Burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Concordia. Born Sept. 26, 1923, in Concordia, he was the son of the late Martin Beerman and Mary Niemeyer Beerman. On March 16, 1947, he married Elva Becker who preceded him in death on March 19, 2010. He lived in Concordia his entire life, was a farmer and served as associate county commissioner for Lafayette county for 10 years. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church where he served as an elder, trustee, on the voters assembly and various boards.
Survivors include four children, John Beerman and his wife, Jan, of Concordia, Cheryl Petersen and her husband, Mark, of Concordia, Jim Beerman and his wife, Rhonda, of Marshall, Steve Beerman and his wife, Angie, of Concordia; 11 grandchildren, Amy Gerdts, Richard Beerman, Emily Beerman, Brian Beerman, Erin Tieman, Erik Petersen, Jason Beerman, Julie Battista, Jared Beerman, Trey Beerman and Breawna Woods; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nathan Beerman, one brother, Omar Beerman, and one sister, Nora Dittmer.
