Lucille Loges, 92, of Sweet Springs, died Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2011, at Sweet Springs Villa.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 22, 2011, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Sweet Springs. Born Dec. 20, 1918, in Emma, she was the daughter of the late Otto Schelp and Stella Stuerke Schelp. On Sept. 10, 1939, she married Lambert Loges who preceded her in death on Sept. 2, 1988. She was raised in the Emma area and following her marriage, resided in rural Sweet Springs where she and her husband farmed, as well as being a homemaker. They later moved into Sweet Springs and she worked in the cafeteria at Sweet Springs R-7 High School for nearly 15 years. She was a lifelong member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was a member of its Ladies Aid. She was also a member of a quilting club.
Survivors include her children: Robert Loges, Larry Loges, Ann Johnson and Stanley Loges, all of rural Sweet Springs; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; three brothers, Eldred Schelp and Leland Schelp of Emma, Roger Schelp of rural Concordia; two sisters, Hildegard Becker and Ruth Becker, both of Concordia; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert and Robert Schelp, and a sister in infancy.
