James Russell (J.R.) Case, Sr., 67, of Malta Bend, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2011, at Malta Bend United Methodist Church, with Rev. Karen Tutak officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Burial will be in Malta Bend Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Malta Bend United Methodist Church. Born July 4, 1943, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Charley Case and Roszella Peel Case. On May 20, 1967, he married Norma Jean Cobb who survives of the home. He lived in Saline County his entire life and worked for Banquet Foods, Missouri Valley College and retired from Marshall Habilitation Center. He was a faithful member of Malta Bend United Methodist Church where he was chairman of the board, taught Sunday school and Tabs and volunteered at the clothes closet.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four sons, James Russell Case Jr. of Malta Bend, Charley T. Case and his wife, Robin, of Malta Bend, twin sons, Larry W. Case and his wife, Rachel, of Marshall and Gary L. Case and his companion, Bobbi, of Malta Bend; nine grandchildren; one sister, Linda Goodman of Malta Bend; one brother, Rickey Dean Case of Kansas City; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Patricia Ann Case, and one brother, Robert Dean Case.
