Glen Elson, 77, of Keytesville, died Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2010, at his home.
Visitation was held from 1 to 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, at Summerville Funeral Home in Salisbury with services following at 2 p.m, with Rev. Nathan Argent officiating. Burial was in Miami Cemetery in Miami. Pallbearers were Matthew Elson, Alex Elson, Mike Walser, Mike Wright, Kenny Fischer, Jared Meyer and Kyle Boss. Honorary Pallbearers were Chris Haynes, Mendell Elson, Roy Wright, Keith Walser, Terry Palmer, LT Stephens and Gene Elson. Memorial contributions may be made to the Miami Cemetery Association.
Born Sept. 28, 1933, in Blackburn, he was the son of the late Charles W. and Mildred Amanda (Stephens) Elson. On Aug. 26, 1955, in Salisbury, he married Leeleath Sanders who preceded him in death on Sept. 7, 2001. He served in the US Army and attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall. He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by two sons, Doug Elson and Daryl Elson, both of Salisbury; two daughters, Dora Palmer of Keytesville and Denise Walser of Salisbury; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one niece.
