Ruth Jerolene Roberts, 78, of Sedalia, formerly of Saline County, died Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, 2010, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia. Vice Bishop Wellington J. Gorham Jr. will officiate. Bethany Weiker, organist, will play "In the Sweet Bye & Bye" and "Amazing Grace." Burial will be in the Mount Moriah Cemetery in Slater. Pallbearers will be Ron Allen, Darrell Allen, Nicholas Allen and William Jackson. Visitation will be from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel. Weiker Funeral Home in Slater is in charge of the arrangements.

Born Aug. 4, 1932, in Frankfort, she was the daughter of the late Wyatt and Mary Allen. She married Henry L. Roberts who preceded her in death on March 31, 1982. Mrs. Roberts was a member of the Abbott Chapel United Methodist Church in Slater. She lived in Minneapolis and Seattle for many years before returning to Gilliam and moving to Sedalia in 2009.

She is survived by a son, David L. Allen of Sedalia; a step-daughter, Robin Fisher of the state of California; three grandchildren; two brothers, Ezra Allen of Kansas City and Milan Allen of Burnsville, Minn.; and three sisters, Wilma Williams and Mildred Collier both of Minneapolis, Minn., and Mary Hutson of League City, Texas. She was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
