Leta Belle Land, 99, of Sedalia, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 2010, at Bothwell Regional Health Center.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 20, 2010, at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Sedalia. Pallbearers will be Brian Egbert, James Egbert, Scott Land, Jay Land, Don Land and Harold Fry. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. The family will receive friends from noon until service time at the chapel. Born Aug. 23, 1911, in Weston, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Emma Belle (Biscoe) Cornett. On Sept. 16, 1930, in Sedalia, she married James C. Land, who died Nov. 19, 1985.
She was raised in Marshall and was a 1928 graduate of Marshall High School. She worked at Lamy's from 1957 until retiring in 1981.
She is survived by three sons, James Edward Land of Kansas City, Donald Wayne Land of Las Vegas, Nev., and John Michael Land of Sedalia; a daughter, Charlene Egbert of Sedalia; ten grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by one son, Howard Eugene Land; and siblings, Catherine Wood, Maude Thomas, Howard Cornett, Dollie Mae Cornett and Carl Cornett.
