Ralph B. (R.B.) Young, 79, of Cole Camp, formerly of Slater, died Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at Slater Presbyterian Church with Rev. Pam Sebastian officiating and Bethany Weiker, organist, playing "Amazing Grace" and "In the Garden". Burial will be in Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Josh Engel, Steve McMellen, Tim Brumit, Anthony McDaniel, Wesley Young and William McDaniel. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church. Memorials are suggested to the church in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Aug. 27, 1931, in Slater, he was the son of the late William R. and Nellie Bly Young. He worked at Stampers in Marshall and later Lightfoot Veneer & Box in Slater. He lived most of his life in Slater before moving to Cole Camp in 2001.
He is survived by two sons, Timmy Young of Marshall and Bruan Young of Hartsburg; two daughters, Shirley Corpening of Cole Camp and Glenora Cott of Boonville; five grandchildren; and one brother, Ben Young of Fayette.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, three sisters and two brothers.
