Fred Hooper Jr., 50, of Concordia, died Monday, Nov. 29, 2010, in rural Concordia.
Memorial graveside services and inurnment will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, 2010, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with full military rites. There will be no visitation. Born April 27, 1960, in Marshall, he was the son of Fred Hooper Sr. and Joan Cotten Hooper who survive of Concordia. He was a 1978 graduate of Concordia High School and on Feb. 18, 1994, he married Brenda Sims who survives. He lived in the Saline and Lafayette county areas many years where he had worked at Milbank, Swishers and most recently for Marshall Municipal Utilities. Fred retired from the Missouri Army National Guard on Dec. 31, 1994, after 16 years of service. He was a member of Concordia Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is survived by three daughters, Liz Brookhart of Kahoka, Michelle Pummill of Ashland, Jodi Hooper of Concordia; one son, Charles Hooper of Concordia; one step-son, Jason Pauley of Sweet Springs; three granddaughters; one step-granddaughter; one sister, Paula Taylor of Glen Saint Mary, Fla.; along with nieces and nephews.
