Mae E. Taylor, 88, of rural Miami, died Friday, Nov. 26, 2010, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Private family graveside services will be held at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Friends may call Monday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall to sign the register book. Memorials may be made to Community Cancer Center or American Heart Association. Born Dec. 16, 1921, in Miami, she was the daughter of the late Charles W. Hirt and Grace Morrow Hirt. In December of 1940, she married Claude E. Taylor who preceded her in death in October of 1992. She had lived in the Miami community her entire life and was a member of Miami Baptist Church.
Survivors include four children, Claude E. Taylor, Jr. and his wife, Barbara, of rural Miami, Louella Wilkinson of rural Malta Bend, Walter (Jim) Taylor and his wife, Carolyn, of rural Miami and Mary Wright of rural Marshall; four grandchildren, Delynne Eddy and her husband, Gene, Teresa Taylor, Jim Wilkinson and Waltedda Blessing and her husband, Stewart; seven great-grandchildren, Dorri Browning and her husband, Justin, Derek Eddy, Danae Eddy, Taylor Wilkinson, Tori Wilkinson, Morgan Blessing and Corbin Blessing; two great-great-grandchildren, Haley and Hunter Browning; two sisters, Flossie Hayes and Maudie Class both of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters and four brothers.
