   Coordinated by Show-Me-Select Board with University of Missouri
Extension, University of Missouri Commercial Agriculture Program, MU
College of Veterinary Medicine, Missouri Cattlemen's Association and
Missouri Department of Agriculture.

   All heifers having met minimum standards for reproductive soundness,
pelvic size, body condition and weight. They have also undergone a
comprehensive health program, and were guaranteed bred to easy calving
bulls, with 85 percent artificially bred.  These heifers were expected
for the most part to calve from February 2 thru April 14, 2011, with
projected calving dates given for each lot of heifers.  Majority of these
heifers (74 percent) were black, with 26 percent black baldies, red
baldies, or red.  Flesh condition was mostly in upper moderate to low
fleshy.  The offering was screened for blemishes, graded, and body
condition scored (BCS) by a final screening committee, comprised of
official graders from the Missouri Dept of Agriculture and USDA, then
sorted into lots according to calving dates and body type similarity
where permissible.  There was a standing room only crowd on hand for the
sale and following special cow sale.  Forty two lots totaling 131 head
sold with an average weight of 1123 lbs and an average price of 1434.00
per head compared to 1169 lbs and 1180.00 per head last year, with seven
lots bringing 1600.00 per head.  AI bred heifers brought 77.00 per head
more than NS bred heifers.

   Replacement Bred Heifers:  Large 1 and 1-2  1093-1440 lbs, 1225.00-
1600.00 per head.  Medium and Large 1 and 1-2  980-1241 lbs, 1200.00-
1600.00 per head.
