Howard N. "Bud" Sporleder, 66, of Climax Springs, formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 23, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Fr. Kevin Gormley and William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery near Marshall Junction. Born June 10, 1944, in St. Cloud, Minn., he was the son of the late Howard William Sporleder and Margaret Jansky Sporleder. He was a Catholic, a graduate of Mercy Academy and attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall. On Oct. 2, 1965, he married Carolyn Wiley who survives of the home. He had worked for UPS for 30 years, retiring to the Lake of the Ozarks in 2001, moving from Blue Springs. He had served as a medic in the U.S. Army Reserve.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Amy Bowers and her husband, Marc, of Seattle, Wash.; one granddaughter, Saviah Bowers; one brother, Richard Sporleder of Marshall; one sister, Joy Ann Bryan of Springfield; one aunt, Betty Swanson of Great Falls, Mont.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Timothy H. Sporleder.
