Mary Frances Magruder, 91, of Macon, formerly of Atlanta and Brunswick, died Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 19, 2010, at Elliott Funeral Home in Atlanta, with Rev. Denzil Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Brunswick City Cemetery in Brunswick. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service Friday. Memorials are suggested to Brunswick City Cemetery and may be left or mailed to Elliott Funeral Home, PO Box 392, Atlanta, Mo. 63530.
Born June 5, 1919, in Brunswick, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Ferguson) Carr. On May 18, 1936, in Marceline, she married Hollis Ray Magruder, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 1995. She had worked at Banquet Foods and was also a cook at a restaurant in Brunswick. She was a member of Atlanta Christian Church.
She is survived by one son, Herbert Wayne Magruder of Atlanta; two daughters, Doris Katherine Fry of Marshall and Helen Fay Gunn of Camdenton; eight grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Ralph Dale Magruder; three brothers, John and Howard Fletcher and Clavin Carr; one sister, Flossie Gooch; and one grandaughter, Crystal Hanlon.
