David Elton Lewis, 76, of Sedalia died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2010.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 16, 2010, at First Baptist Church of Sedalia with Pastor Drew Hill officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 15, 2010, at Ewing-Schutte-Semler Funeral Home. Born Dec. 23, 1933, he was the son of the late Elton D. and Iva (Ripley) Lewis. On July 20, 1996, he married Judy Wheat who survives of the home. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Sedalia. He was a talented carpenter and woodworker, his hobbies included hunting, fishing and working on cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by six children, Michael Lewis of Klamath Falls, Ore., Gary Lewis and his wife, Elizabeth, of Green Ridge, Galen Lewis and his wife, Rebecca, of Sedalia, Scott Lewis and his wife, Stacy, of Smithton, Matthew Goodwin and his wife, Lisa, of Sedalia and Robert Goodwin and his wife, Tammy, of Sedalia; 13 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Sarah Tomb of Elmira, N.Y. and Barbara Gustin of Columbus Cross Roads, Penn.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by; one brother, Ethan Lewis; one sister, Kathleen Lewis and one grandson, Gabriel Lewis.
