Charles E. Phillips, 87, of rural Marshall, died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2010, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church. Born Dec. 18, 1922, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Howard Riley Phillips and Janie Crumm Phillips. On Feb. 28, 1942, he married Wilma Ruth Harris who preceded him in death on March 1, 2005. He had lived in Marshall his entire life, was a retired farmer, worked at Lake City Arsenal and Marshall Habilitation Center. He was a member of the First Christian Church in Marshall.
Survivors include two sons, Kenny Phillips and Tom Phillips, both of rural Marshall; one daughter, Linda Bradley, of Marshall; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by four sisters and three brothers.
