Peggy Ann Sims, 78, of Marshall, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 2010, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Pallbearers are Sam Igo, David Igo, Chris Igo, Gerald McClurg and Jim Stockmann. Honorary pallbearers are Tim Sims, Jeff Sims, Scott Sims, Steven Sims, Michael Varner, Sean McCracken and Taylor Thompson. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Mar-Saline Manor Activity Fund or Community Cancer Center. Born Sept. 22, 1932, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Archie McReynolds and Opal Hoover McReynolds. On June 4, 1950, she married L.D. Sims, Jr. who preceded her in death on December 28, 1999. She had lived in Marshall her entire life and worked for the food service department of Marshall Public Schools. She was a member of First Christian Church, Marshall Optimist Club and the Lunch Bunch.
Survivors include two sons, Robert Lee Sims, of St. Petersburg, Fla. and Kenneth E. Sims and his wife, Karen, of Blackburn; one daughter, Linda King, of Marshall; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Allen Sims, and a sister, Mary Louise McReynolds.
