James F. Duvall Sr, 84, of Carrollton, died Sept. 25, 2010, at Life Care Center in Carrollton.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Carrollton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery with military honors provided by 193rd Division, Bravo Company. Visitation will be held from 6:30-8 p.m., Tuesday, at Bittiker Funeral Home with Rosary following. The family suggests contributions be made to family's choice or St. Mary's Catholic Church in memory of James. Born May 29, 1926, he was the son of the late James and Mary Elizabeth (Rosen) Duvall of Marshall. He married Bertie Viola Bell on April 20, 1946. James attended St. Peters Catholic School and Mercy Academy of Marshall, and was an Army WWII veteran. James spent his life being a farmer and a mechanic for John Deere of Carrollton. He attended St. Mary's Catholic Church where he was a Grand Knight in the Knight's of Columbus.
He is survived by his wife, Bertie, of the home; children, Sharon Kinker, of Marshall, Minn., James Duvall Jr., of Pampa, Texas, William Duvall, of Marshall, Richard Duvall, of Glendale, Ariz., Jane Turner, of Jefferson City, Teresa Lent, of Marshall, Barbara Orey, of Marshall, Mary Traver, of Warrensburg; one sister, Betty Ahnefeld, of Norborne; 22 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Mary Ellen Furry and Lucille Bultmann.
