Virginia Ellen Wilson Stark, 88, of Marshall, died Monday, Sept. 13, 2010, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 17, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Pallbearers will be Donald Stark, Linn Self, Clay Self, Mike Self, Darrell Stark, Jimmy Stark, Jason Williams, Mark Dirck, Odie Griffitt, Jodie Griffitt, Andy Griffitt and Joel Self. Honorary pallbearers will be Beverly Stark, Ashley Stark, Julie Bunch, Ronda Southall, Christy Mullins, Rayetta Self and Amber Barber. Memorials may be made to family choice. Born, February 17, 1922, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Edward Harrison Wilson and Beulah Violet Hinton Wilson. On Dec. 28, 1941, she married Alfred Lacy Stark, who preceded her in death on April 9, 1967. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was retired from ConAgra Frozen Foods. She was a member of Zoar Baptist Church.
Survivors include her children, Elizabeth Self of Marshall, Lacy Stark and his wife, Margaret, of Sweet Springs, Marie Griffitt and her husband, David, of Slater, Wayne Stark of rural Marshall, Frances Dirck of Sedalia and Ron Stark and his wife, Diane, of Mora; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sue Ann Self and Dawnett McKinney; a son-in-law, Marshall Dirck; and a daughter-in-law, Sandra Jean (Sandy) Stark.
