Judson H. Audsley Jr., 82, of Slater died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be Saturday, Sept. 11, 2010, at 10 a.m. at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Rev. David L. Duncan will officiate. Bethany Weiker organist will play How Great Thou Art and Just A Closer Walk With Thee. Burial will be in the Slater City Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Russell E. Griffith, Keith Wright, Terry Sullivan, Bing Smith, Steven Davis and Joe Clements Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ron McCoy, Kenneth Cott, J.I. Akeman, Charles Weiher, Butch Maupin, Bill Crane, John Dale, and Russell Murdock. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Early Childhood Center at Slater Public Schools.
Born March 13, 1928 near Miami, he was the son of the late Judson H. Audsley Sr. and Margaret Roe Audsley Holmes. On February 21, 1948, in Slater he married Dorothy Sue Yates and she survives of the home.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Slater. He had served several terms as a councilman for the City of Slater. He was a retired brakeman for the GM&O Railroad and later the Gateway Western until his retirement in 1991.
Also surviving is a son, Jim Bob Audsley of Slater; a daughter, Patricia Shepard of Granbury, Texas; 5 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Thomas L. Audsley a half brother, Walker Audsley and a half sister, Helen Myers.
