Etta Fern Baker, 81, of Houstonia, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2010, at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Heckart Funeral Home in Sedalia. Burial will be in Houstonia Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home.
Casket bearers will be Tom Kreisel, Dalton Dillon, Mark Underwood, Douglas Mackesty, Scott Dawson, Randy Schoen and Jerry Page. Memorial contributions are suggested to American Heart Association or United Methodist Church of Houstonia. Condolences may be offered at www.heckartfuneralhome.com.
Born September 17, 1928, in Otterville, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Etta Holman Page. On September 28, 1947, in Sedalia, she married Harry E. Baker, who survives of the home. She was a member of Houstonia United Methodist Church and the Houstonia Extension Club. She was a Sunday School teacher and 4-H leader and enjoyed being with family and friends. She had lived in Houstonia since 1954.
In addition to her husband, survivors include one daughter, Peggy L. Nelson, and her husband, David, of Blackburn; grandchildren, Steven and Rebecca Nelson and Christina Nelson, all of Concordia; two brothers, Clay Page of Overland Park, Kan., and Bud Page of Albuquerque, N.M.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Ruth "Tootsie" Beck, Ruby Sanders and Cassie Homan; and brothers, Jewell Page and Deo Page.
