Non-insured
assistance program (NAP) deadlines
The NAP program provides coverage on crops that federal crop insurance is not traditionally available for.
NAP policies may be required in order to meet eligibility for disaster programs including:
--crop losses covered by the Supplemental Revenue Assistance (SURE) program, &
--grazing losses under the Livestock Forage Program (LFP)
Keep in mind that in order to be eligible, FSA disaster programs require coverage on everything a producer has an interest in.
Upcoming 2011 NAP deadlines for some crops in our area:
--September 1: Value Loss Crops including Aquaculture, Christmas Trees, Ginseng Root, Ornamental Nursery and Turf Grass Sod; Controlled Environment Crops including floriculture and mushrooms; Greens
September 30: Fall-seeded small grains including Barley, Canola, Rye, Triticale, and Wheat; Strawberries
November 20: Apples, Apricots, Grapes, Nectarines, Peaches, Pears, and Blueberries
