Georgetta Calvert Rippley, 96, of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Aug. 26, 2010, at Western Missouri Medical Center in Warrensburg.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Sweet Springs, with Rev. Tim Biesemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery in Boonville. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and the family has suggested memorial contributions be made to family choice. Born September 25, 1913, in Green Ridge, she was the daughter of the late John A. Calvert and Nellie Mae Anderson Calvert. She was a 1932 graduate of Green Ridge High School and completed a two-year course at Rosenthal Business School in Columbia. On November 23, 1939, she married Emil O. (Rip) Rippley, who preceded her in death on September 13, 2004. She had lived in Sweet Springs since 1954, where she was an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Barbara Rippley Brown of Baton Rouge, La. and Donna Rippley Scott-Heermann of Independence; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers.
