Allyn Woodleigh Johnson Burns, 64, of Marshall, died Saturday, Aug 21,
2010, at University Hospital in Columbia.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 28, 2010, at
Covenant Presbyterian Church in Marshall, with Rev. Kathryn Bell officiating.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Memorials may
be made to Blackwater R-II School in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in

Born Sept. 2, 1945, in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert
Mileham Johnson and Leanore Purnell Johnson, who survives of Atlantic Beach,
Fla. She was raised in New Jersey and had lived in Marshall since 1976. She was a
retired school teacher, having taught four years at Houstonia Elementary School
and 26 years at Blackwater R-2 School.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by one daughter, Barbara L. Burns
of the home; one granddaughter, Haylee A.K. Burns of the home; two nephews,
Thomas A. Green Jr. of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Sean P. Johnson of Lewisville, Texas;
a brother-in-law, Thomas A. Green Sr. of Raleigh, N.C.; and one sister-in-law, Sheila R.
Johnson of Lewisville, Texas.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by one sister, Holly J.
Green, and one brother, Mark M. Johnson.
