Gary Ray Rucker, 52, of Pawhuska, Okla, died Friday, Aug. 20, 2010, at his home.
Memorial services were held at 11 a.m., Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, at First United Methodist Church of Pawhuska, with Rev. Ronald Eldridge officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 28, at Ridge Park Cemetery. Born Jan. 29, 1958, in Marshall he was the son of Wayne Rucker and the late Barbara Louise Green Rucker. In 1978 he married Susan Merchant who survives of the home. Moving to Pawhuska, he was a manager for Walmart before starting his own business, G & S Flooring, as a floor-covering specialist. He was a member of First Christian Church and First United Methodist Church. He was a fan of NASCAR racing, fishing, camping, golfing and traveling with his wife. He loved spending time with his kids, grandkids and family members.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by one daughter, Sarah Stamper; three sons, Brian Rucker, Kevin Rucker and his wife Kimber, and Chris Rucker and Ashley Reed; three grandchildren, Evan Stamper, Landon Rucker, Amara Rucker and a grandson not yet born; one brother, Larry Rucker; two sisters, Cathy Haase and her husband, Doug, and Becky Silvey and her husband, Shawn; and his mother-in-law, Gwen Merchant.
In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Ted Rucker and Clara Rucker; maternal grandparents, James Green and Ruth Green.
