Dorothy L. Wiley, 83, of rural Marshall, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at The Living Center in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery south of Marshall Junction. Memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association. Born Sept. 7, 1926, in Quenemo, Kan., she was the daughter of the late John M. Chandler and Grace Cook Chandler. On Apr. 15, 1948, she married James P. "Jim" Wiley, who survives of the home. She worked for the Telephone Company in Los Angeles, Calif., had lived in Saline County the past 60 years and retired from Marshall Habilitation Center. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and the Foster Grandparent Program.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Carolyn Sporleder and husband, Bud, of Climax Springs, Paul D. Wiley and wife, Lois, of Macks Creek and Janice Merrell and husband, Randy, of Minneapolis, Kan.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son in infancy; two grandchildren, Joy Marie Franks and Timothy Sporleder; one brother, John Chandler; and two sisters, Beatrice Norris and Virginia Browne.
