Sarah Nicole Schelp, 27, of Emma, died Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010, at I-70 Community Hospital in Sweet Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Emma, with Rev. Rick Swanson officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Monday at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, with the family receiving friends in the basement of Holy Cross Lutheran School. Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery. Pallbearers are Curtis Benson, Kenneth Montavy, Thomas Kreisel, Kevin Schelp, Charles Applequist, Steven Nelson and Alexander Walsh. Born June 9, 1983, in Independence, she was the daughter of David M. Schelp and Susan Linder Schelp, who survive of the home. She had lived in Emma her entire life, was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and was an active member of the Concordia Community Theater. She was a 2001 graduate of Saint Paul Lutheran High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, where she was completing her degree in art education.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sisters, her twin, Rebecca Schelp Nelson and husband, Steve, of Concordia and Abigail Schelp and husband, Alexander Walsh, of Stafford, Va.; her paternal grandfather, Eldred V. Schelp of Emma; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Ted Linder, Dorothy Linder and Juanita Linder, and her paternal grandmother, Shirley J. Schelp.
