The Saline County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) has been approved for funding through the Conservation Cooperative Partnership Initiative (CCPI) which will provide $500,000 through the Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) for cost share on terraces, underground tile outlets, grass waterways and grade stabilization structures for farmers in Saline County.
This funding is to be obligated in fiscal year 2010.
This program could be your opportunity to receive cost share on the practice that you have already surveyed, or for other projects that you would like to complete in the future.
If approved, cost share could be available this fall or even this late summer. It would allow you to schedule cost share over a period of several years or do a large amount of work right away. You can choose to use this program instead of Missouri State Cost Share or in addition to the state program.
If you are interested in using this cost share option, please come to the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) office in Marshall, Missouri by August 10, 2010 and complete an EQIP application. Screening, ranking and contract obligation must be completed by August 31, 2010 in order to retain the funds for Saline County farmers.
