Sedalia-Central Missouri Sales Company: Cattle Auction Report for 07/19/2010

Tuesday, July 20, 2010

Receipts: 570 One Week Ago: 660 Year Ago: 1092

Compared to last week, feeder prices were mixed but mostly had a lower
undertone on a weather market. With a heat index of 110, few buyers were
very active. The recent run-up in corn prices could also have been a
factor affecting demand. Supply was also affected by the heat. Slaughter
cows firm-1.00 higher on a good cow test. Cows and bulls were 26 percent
of receipts. In the feeder supply, steers and bulls were 56 percent of
the run; heifers 44 percent. Near 51 percent of feeders weighed
over 600 lbs.
