Sweet Springs School Board is eager for new building

Friday, July 9, 2010
The new site is located at 600 E Marshall Street, just east of the current elementary school. The next board meeting will be held here Monday, August 9, at 7 p.m.

There was nothing timid about it -- the Sweet Springs Board of Education is moving the sale process forward for the old elementary school building.

In their meeting Friday, July 9, board members approved a motion to advertise sale of the building at 105 E Main Street pending the completion of the realtor's work.

A survey of the property is most likely the next step as the board hopes to keep other buildings that are located on the site. The Saline County surveyor has not yet returned calls made by the board, but members feel confident the process will move quickly; the board's realtor, is looking to list the property possibly as early as next week.

The superintendent's report reflects positive news on the district's new school building. With bleachers, basketball goals and more asphalt going in, there is little left to do.

  • Good luck SSBE, I've tried reaching the same party for over a year. I finally gave up as I was tired of the one sided phone tag game. Although I'm pretty sure he's currently running for election for something, maybe that's his excuse for not returning ur calls.
