Raymond Eugene Maddex, 63, of Sagrada Beach, died Thursday, July 1, 2010, at his home.
Graveside services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Inman Memorial Cemetery, rural Lincoln, with Rev. Johnny Medlock officiating. Military honors were conducted by American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp. Pallbearers were Troy Dixon, T.J. Jackson, Kenny Renfro, Shawne Howe, David Gwinner and Todd Straub. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the family for funeral expenses in care of Fox Funeral Home, Cole Camp.
Born Aug. 2, 1946, in Boonville, he was the son of Rolla and Josephine (Griesbach) Maddex.
He grew up in the Kansas City area and attended Ruskin Heights School in Grandview. He served in the U.S. Navy on the aircraft carrier USS America during the Vietnam War.
On Dec. 7, 1994, at their home on the Lake of the Ozarks, he married Sharon K. Patterson, who preceded him in death Oct. 13, 2008. Until his retirement, he was a lineman journeyman electrician for T & W Pole Line Construction. He was a member of American Legion Post No. 305 of Cole Camp.
He is survived by his mother, Josephine Maddex, of Lincoln; four daughters, Kristin Jackson of Anderson, Dena Gwinner of Bunceton, Shauna Lash of Marshall, and Shelli Howe of Cole Camp; three sons, Ed Maddex of Lincoln, Tony Maddex of Bunceton and Richard Maddex of McGirk; one sister, Grace Scott of Bunceton; two brothers, William L. Maddex of Lincoln and James A. Maddex of Tipton; 15 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his father, Rolla Maddex.
