Elinor L. Johnson, 85, of Slater, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at her home.
Private family services will be held at Slater City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Turpentine Creek Wildlife Refuge in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born July 4, 1924, in Tulsa, Okla., she was the daughter of the late Guy A. and Lillian Pilkington Silverthorn. On May 20, 1977, in Las Vegas, Nev., she married J.B. Johnson, who preceded her in death May 28, 2003. She was a member of Slater United Methodist Church and worked for a number of years at H&R Block in Marshall as a tax preparer.
She is survived by two grandchildren, Jim Granneman of Columbia and Jean Ann Lawson of Kansas City; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Dan Silverthorn and wife, Jeanne, of Marshall; one sister, Florence Wilson of Marshall; four nieces, Karen Keller of Boonville, Sandy Hufford of rural Marshall, Monique Wilson of the state of Ohio and Rita Silverthorn of Marshall; two nephews, Blaine Howard of the state of Ohio and Mark Silverthorn of Branson; one son-in-law, Gus Granneman of Laurie; and special friends, Debbie and Mike Fizer of Slater.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Eleanor Ann Granneman, and one nephew, Alan Silverthorn.
