Zula Mae Inspruckner, 95, of Slater, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 8, 2010, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater, with Rev. David L. Duncan officiating. Bethany Weiker, organist, will accompany Gerald Gerhard as he sings "In the Garden." Burial will be in the Rehoboth Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Murdock, Jim Murdock, Tim Murdock, Kim Taylor, Shannon Smith and George Smith. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Slater Senior Center or the Slater Youth Center.
Born Sept. 23, 1914, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Payton L. and Mollie Johnson Murdock. On May 20, 1933, in Marshall, she married George J. Inspruckner, who preceded her in death Feb. 19, 1990. She had been a continuous member of the First Baptist Church in Slater for 86 years, having been baptized there on May 31, 1924. She was also a member of the Slater Garden Club. She had resided in Slater since 1990, moving from a farm north of Slater.
She is survived by a daughter, Georgia Mae Smith, of Slater; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; and a brother, James Russell Murdock of rural Slater.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Lee Murdock, and a sister in infancy.
