Lena Clemons, 93, of Marshall, died Monday, July 5, 2010, at Big Bend Retreat in Slater.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, July 9, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow and Rev. Vernon Maxted officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Marshall Area Senior Center Board. Born Aug. 30, 1916, in Higbee, she was the daughter of the late A.O. Durnil and Tabitha Kirby Durnil. On Oct. 22, 1971, she married Warren Travis Clemons, who preceded her in death Nov. 5, 2000. She had lived in Marshall most of her life and was retired from International Shoe Company. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Marshall.
Survivors include one stepson, Larry Clemons and wife, Georgia, of Columbia; two step-grandchildren, Savannah Kwanvig and Clayton Clemons; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Beulah Caldwell, and two brothers, Norman and Hershel Durnil.
