Boonville-Farmers Livestock Auction: Cattle Auction Report for 06/22/2010

Wednesday, June 23, 2010

Receipts: 996 Week Ago: 701 Year Ago: 240

Compared to last week, feeder steers and heifers under 550 lbs sold steady to
2.00 lower, over 550 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 higher. Slaughter cows steady to 1.00
higher. Surprisingly, the extreme heat and humidity in the area did little to
curb receipts this week and buyers had plenty of nice cattle to sort through.
Six weight steers in particular were met with increased demand. Several pot
loads of yearlings already consigned for next week’s sale. Supply moderate to
heavy and demand moderate to good. Cows and bulls accounted for 20 percent of
the total offering. The feeder supply consisted of 49 percent steers, 9 percent
bulls and 42 percent heifers; 57 percent of all the feeders weighed over 600
lbs.
