Missouri Farm Bureau donated a $250 grant to the Malta Bend FFA Chapter at Malta Bend R-V School.
The grant was used to purchase Wisconsin Fast Plants that grow from start to finish in 35 days.
The 7th grade Exploratory Agriculture class started the project at the end of January, beginning with studying the growing process of the Wisconsin Fast Plants.
They then had to build the necessary lighting system, choose seed and graph the plant growth. By March, the 7th graders were divided into groups to teach the procedure to the kindergarten through sixth grades.
