Sharon Parkhurst, 73, of rural Napton died Friday, June 11, 2010, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Gregory T. Bunn and Rev. Larry D. Thomas officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Gill Memorial Baptist Church in Marshall. Born April 9, 1937, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Douglas Thomas and Reba DeWitt Thomas Bradshaw. On Aug. 2, 1953, she married Dean Parkhurst, who survives of the home. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a member of Gill Memorial Baptist Church.
Additional survivors include her children, Sherry Lynn King of rural Napton, Douglas Dean Parkhurst of Marshall, Pamela Sue Parsons of Marshall and Kyle Leslie Parkhurst of Marshall; 11 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; one brother, Larry D. Thomas of Lee's Summit; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her father and mother, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, James E. Bradshaw, and one daughter, Kimberly Beth Stanley.
