Elizabeth Pointer, 83, of Marshall, died Monday, May 31, 2010, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 4, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Memorials may be made to Community Cancer Center. Born May 19, 1927, in Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Russell Lowell Parcels and Cordie Palmer Parcels. On May 28, 1946, she married Henry J. Pointer, who preceded her in death May 28, 1993. She had lived in Saline County most of her life and was a member of Marshall Church of the Nazarene. She was a retired cook at Marshall Public Schools.
Survivors include two sons, Lacy L. Pointer and wife, Donna, of Sedalia, and Danny L. Pointer and wife, Pam, of Marshall; five grandsons, Jim Pointer, Brad Pointer, Ben Pointer, Cort Pointer and Nick Pointer; 11 great-grandchildren; one brother, O.D. Parcels of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Ellen Lawson and Ruby Zanes.
