Gloria J. Halsey, 86, of Independence, formerly of Marshall, died Sunday, May 30, 2010, at her home.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Memorials may be made to the charity of donor's choice. Born May 30, 1924, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late John B. Halsey and Ida Pannell Halsey Moore. She was a 1942 graduate of Marshall High School. She had lived in the Kansas City metro area since 1946, moving from Marshall, and was a member of First Baptist Church in Independence. She was a retired secretary at Western Auto and Girl Scouts of America.
Survivors include one nephew, John R. Larson and wife, Gloria, of Independence.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Iva Dean Cromley and Minnie Frances Larson.
