Charlie W. Bishop, 72, of San Benito, Texas, formerly of Marshall, died Saturday, May 1, 2010, at his home.
Memorial services will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, May 17, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Memorials may be made to Odyssey Hospice.
Born Aug. 18, 1937, in Boonville, he was the son of the late Wilbur W. Bishop and Hattie Mabrey Bishop. He was a 1955 graduate of Boonville High School. On July 14, 1955, he married Betty J. Ashford, who survives of the home. He had lived in San Benito since 1998, moving from Alma, and had also lived in Marshall for several years. He was owner/operator of Bishop Construction Company. He was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Concordia and had served in the Missouri National Guard.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by one daughter, Pam Pointer and husband, Danny, of Marshall; two sons, Dan Bishop and wife, Annette, of rural Marshall and Dennis Bishop and wife, Gayle, of Marshall; six grandsons, Cort and Nick Pointer, Jordan and Shane Bishop, and Jacob and Anthony Bishop; seven great-grandchildren, Bryce, Henry, Gus, Grace, McKenna, Parker and Kole; two sisters, Louise Friedrich and husband, Robert, of rural Boonville and Betty Gilliam of Weiser, Idaho; and several nieces and nephews.
