Mildred Cornine, 93, of Marshall, formerly of Blackwater, died Monday, May 10, 2010, at Golden Oaks Extended Care in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, at Meisenheimer Funeral Home in Pilot Grove, with Pastor Tom Brack officiating. Burial will be in Peninsula Cemetery near Blackwater. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until time of service Friday at the funeral home.
Born Oct. 28, 1916, in Otterville, she was the daughter of Ross and Rosa Lee Racy Landon. On Sept. 3, 1936, she married Archie R. Cornine, who preceded her in death in 1994. She was a member of Santa Fe Baptist Church in Boonville. She worked at a gas station for many years, worked at Banquet Foods in Marshall and also worked as a cook at Blackwater School.
Survivors include one daughter, Irene Nichols and husband, Roy Jr., of Duncanville, Texas; two sons, Dale Cornine and wife, Helen, of Polo and Marven Cornine and wife, Brenda, of Blackwater; one brother, Vernon Landon of Lebanon; two sisters, Vivian Weston of New Franklin and Nadine Vivian of Grain Valley; 16 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Lorene Rumbo and Marie Harris; two brothers, Dainie Landon and R.D. Landon; and one sister, Dorothy Barron.
