Glenna Mae Jenkins, 89, of Odessa died Tuesday, April 27, 2010, at Oak Grove Nursing Home in Oak Grove.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 30, at Ralph O. Jones Chapel in Odessa, with Rev. Terry Hodges officiating. Burial will be in Greenton Cemetery in Odessa. Pallbearers are Corey Jenkins, David Jenkins, Brad Jenkins, Todd Jenkins, Jimmy Jenkins and Jerry Jenkins. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church in Odessa or Odessa Parks and Recreation Department.
Born Dec. 29, 1920, in Lexington, she was the daughter of the late Jasper L. Orndoff and Beaulah L. Ashcraft Orndoff. On Jan. 10, 1938, in Lexington, she married Rollie H. Jenkins, who preceded her in death Aug. 4, 1992. She attended Lexington High School. She worked at Lexington Memorial Hospital from 1959 through 1975. She then did private in-home nursing for individual families. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Odessa and a former member of the Weaver Extension Club.
Survivors include four sons, Jim Jenkins Sr. of Slater, Jack Jenkins of Bremerton, Wash., James Edward Jenkins of Odessa and Tom Jenkins of the home; one daughter, Carol King of Odessa; one sister, Bea Parker of Medford, Ore.; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Rollie Jenkins Jr.; three sisters, Hazel Oles, Helen Ashinhurst and Vera Mae Jones; one brother, Earl Orndoff; and three grandchildren.
