Reta Faye Haynes, 87, of New Braunfels, Texas, formerly of Marshall, died Thursday, April 22, 2010.
Born March 10, 1923, in Altus, Okla., she was the daughter of Charlie Houston Reed and Annie Delilah Reed. She was married to Cecil "Jack" Haynes, who preceded her in death. She lived in many states during her life. With her husband, she lived and managed the Showboat Motel in Las Vegas, Nev., and managed the San Roque Motel in Santa Barbara, Calif. After retirement she worked as a crossing guard in Warner Robins, Ga.
She is survived by two sons, Jim Cox and wife, Theresa, of Olathe, Kan., and Jack Haynes and wife, Melinda, of Terrell, Texas; four daughters, Lynne Bradshaw of Millbrook, Ala., Beckie Juarez and husband, Mickey, of New Braunfels, Texas, Melodie Stuart and husband, Dennis, of Bonaire, Ga., and Valerie Crook and husband, Bill, of Buellton, Calif.; and 10 grandchildren, Leonard, Jimmie, Bobby and Anne Cox, Bradley and Colby Haynes, Melissa Eddy, Mandy Hudson, Denne Boykins, and Ashley Crook.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Todd Frakes.
