Born June 28, 1955, in Marshall, she was the daughter of Claude and Shirley (Olmstead) Batye.

She was always a very happy woman and her happiness enriched those around her. She was blessed with a beautiful smile that showed she loved being a grandmother, mother, daughter and friend. She was a nurse's aide for 18 years at Mar-Saline Manor. After retiring, she became a foster parent for five years. Ten sets of children were welcomed into her home as un-adoptable children. All these children were adopted by other families upon leaving Vickie's loving care. Vickie enjoyed her life as a Christian and member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. She loved fishing and her favorite pastime was playing video games.

She is survived by her mother and step-father, Shirley and William Carver of Florence; her son, Ray Brandkamph of Marshall; half-brother, Donald Batye; two stepbrothers, Rusty and Rick Carver; three grandchildren, Amy Coyle, Amber Brandkamph and Roger Garrison; and her significant other, James Thomas.

She was preceded in death by her father, Claude Batye; one brother, C.J. Batye; one half-brother, Ronnie Batye; and one half-sister, Ruth Batye.
