Mildred W. Ehlert, 92, of Marshall, formerly of Concordia, died Saturday, April 10, 2010, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 13, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow and Rev. Alan Gatewood officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salt Fork Cemetery near Nelson. Memorials may be made to Salt Fork Cemetery or Concordia Senior Center. Born Sept. 20, 1917, in Dover, she was the daughter of the late Florence Ridder and Edna Gattung Ridder. On April 3, 1938, she married Everett E. Bartel, who preceded her in death June 18, 1971. On Feb. 14, 1978, she married Clarence Ehlert, who survives of the home. She had lived in the Marshall Junction community until 1978, when she moved to Concordia. She then moved to Marshall in September of 2009. She was a homemaker, a member of Bethel United Church of Christ in Concordia, was active in the Concordia Senior Center and attended the Marshall Senior Center.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Gerald L. Bartel of Marshall and James R. Bartel of Midland, Texas; four daughters, Cheryl A. Holder of Napton, Rose L. Phillips of Florence, Sue Bartelette of Jamestown and Cynthia M. Williams of St. Louis; one stepson, Richard Ehlert of Cortez, Colo.; 19 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; one brother, William Ridder of Kearney; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and first husband, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Emil Olof; two sons, Eugene Bartel and William Bartel; one stepson, Wayne Ehlert; one brother, Orion Ridder; and one grandson.
