Margaret Marie (Gose) Neher, 78, of Higginsville died March 27, 2010, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Higginsville, with Pastor Marcus Jauss officiating. They are being delayed to avoid Holy Week services and to accommodate family travel. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 17, at the church. Honorary casket bearers will be L.H. Dickmeier, Paul Holsten, Jim Kronsbein, Wendell Oetting, Bert Sowers, Ken Mager, John Frerking, Carl Goodman and Bob Rasa. Interment will be at Higginsville City Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Immanuel Lutheran School or Immanuel Radio Broadcast. Born June 8, 1931, in St. Louis, she was the daughter of Paul and Louise (Stelloh) Gose. She worked at the Remnant Shop, the Higginsville Advance, was an optometrist assistant for Dr. Petersen, and worked in the fabric department at Wal-Mart for 17 years. She was a 4-H leader and taught sewing, was a member of the Church Women of Higginsville and Corder, Head Start, and County Extension Club. At church, she was a charter member of the Ruth circle, active in the PTL and Immanuel Lutheran School, Women's Bible study, Immanuel Guild and a Sunday school teacher for 35 years.
She is survived by one son, John Neher of Higginsville; two daughters, Martene Thiel and husband, Donnie, of Marshall and Ellen Gregg and husband, Jerry, of Monticello, Ill.; one brother, Paul W. Gose of Turlock, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and four step-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Louise Thomas, Eunice Oberhelman and Miriam Howald.
