Mary K. Cochran, 90, of rural Sweet Springs, died Friday, April 2, 2010, at Sweet Springs Villa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 7, 2010, at St. Peter Catholic Church in Marshall, with Fr. Tom Alber officiating. Prayer service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall, with visitation following until 8 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Gardens Cemetery in Marshall. Born July 27, 1919, in Marshall, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Heilman and Lillian Mary Heilman. On Jan. 31, 1942, she married Frank E. Cochran, who preceded her in death Sept. 16, 2002. She had lived in Saline County her entire life and was a 1938 graduate of Mercy Academy in Marshall. She worked for 39 years at International Shoe Company in Sweet Springs and Marshall. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Sweet Springs and Sweet Springs American Legion Auxiliary.
Survivors include two daughters, Rita Jones and husband, Tom, of Marshall and Stella Lear and husband, Ed, of rural Sweet Springs; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
