William "Bill" Nye, 56, of Marshall, died Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 5, 2010, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Cliff Cato officiating. Visitation will be held from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Saline Animal League, and friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com. Friends and family are invited to attend a celebration of life luncheon at Martin Community Center after the service.
Born Sept. 4, 1953, in Santa Monica, Calif., he was the son of the late James Nye and Dorothy Elson Nye. He was a 1971 graduate of Venice High School in Venice, Calif. On Aug. 9, 1980, he married Cynthia Dorfmeier, who survives of the home. He had lived in Marshall the past seven years and was a shipping supervisor at ConAgra Foods. Prior to moving to Marshall, he had lived in Arizona and California.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Heather Nye of Jacksonville Beach, Fla. and Staff Sgt. Sarah Nye currently stationed at Ft. Shaw, S.C.; two grandchildren, Cody Brianne Nye and Isaac James Ingraham; four sisters, Peggy Kirkman of Fishers, Ind., Pat Gorman of Long Beach, Calif., Penny Nye of Inglewood, Calif., and Paula Nye of Santa Ana, Calif.; and several nieces and nephews.
